About I-CON

What Happens at I-CON

I-CON is India’s first dedicated exposition for construction chemicals, smart materials, and performance technologies. Three days in Mumbai. Every major supplier, buyer, and policymaker in this sector is in one place.

It is built on a specific insight: the biggest drag on India’s infrastructure quality is not technology. It is the disconnection between the people who make materials, the people who specify them, and the people who are accountable when they fail.

I-CON closes that gap.

The Case for Change

The world is building at an unprecedented scale. How well it builds will determine the cost of that infrastructure for the next 30 years.

When materials are chosen on price alone, and there is no accountability for long-term performance, assets fail early. Rework inflates costs. Maintenance budgets balloon. Public money leaks through preventable structural failure.
This is not inevitable. It is a market design problem. And it has a solution: connecting procurement accountability to material performance, at the point where specifications are being written.
That is what I-CON is designed to do.

The Outcome

  • Better specifications.

  • Stronger procurement logic.

  • Materials that perform.

  • Infrastructure that lasts.

  • A construction market that rewards quality over the short term because buyers understand the long-term cost of not doing so.

  • Over two to three decades, the compounding effect of better decisions at this level is measurable: lower maintenance spend, fewer safety incidents, stronger exports, and a built environment that holds up.
